Time Is Going By Fast
Every weekend it's the same thing, I promise myself I'm gonna spend time getting organized. Instead I do the exact opposite. I do one or two necessary things but don't make a single dent in my personal chaos. I certainly think I'm capable of it, I think I need to turn myself in to Neicy Nash from Clean House so she can help me with all my foolishness! Ah well, at least I can still laugh about it.
Have a good week!!

I Tend To Fade Out
Right now I'm working on a never-ending task, being more organized. I get inspired by the neatness of the Ikea and Container Store catalog. I love organizing and decorating shows, wanting someone to pop out of the TV and redo my space for me while magically imbueing me their talents. Alas, I live in the real world and I guess with ALOT of concentration I can do it. Remembering that I have the ability to shape my world definitely gives me inspiration.

Do I Have a Frienemy?
However, I started to recall times when she would talk about her other friends and it made me uncomfortable. I remember how she spoke of a mutual friend and looked to me to chime in, when I declined she was annoyed and felt I thought I was better or something. Actually that happened with both ladies more than once. But, I'm guilty for listening to the gossip even if I would never repeat it or contribute to it.
As I'm typing this I realize that my definition of friend may be different than theirs. Maybe it's okay to just ignore a person instead of clearing the air. We'll still see each other out with the group; I have no intention of bringing the others into it though. Being able to blog about it helps though. I haven't experienced this behavior since my early college years and even that age is too old for such behavior.
I find it much more refreshing, though a bit nerve racking, to get it all out in the open. That way if there is a misunderstanding it can be resolved quickly and not fester into something ridiculous.
Well, thanks for reading. Any comments welcome.

Wine Fest at O.C. Maryland
Friday:
The drive down was fun since I got a chance to spend time with my girl D. We talked about everything, it was a 3 1/2 hour drive. Once there we opened the wine that we brought and had dinner out on the balcony. The breeze was so beautiful that we barely noticed the garlic bread D burnt. We laughed so hard at the drunk people down below acting a mess on the boardwalk.
We decided to watch a movie and rest up for tomorrow's wine filled afternoon.
Saturday:
We were still missing one of our crew but we headed to the wine fest anyway and kept our cell phones on when she arrived. The walk down the boardwalk was loooong, it was nice to people watch though. The weather was warm enough that people were in bathing suits; we saw many shirtless men who should have done the opposite. The number of Candy Kitchens was unbelievable. It seemed every few feet there was this same chain which must be responsible for all the cavities in Maryland.
The line for the wine fest was long but it went fast. There were soooo many places to try. I found the sweeter wines to my liking. I enjoy both red and white. Hazlitt Vineyards and Terrapin Winery were two of my faves. I bought a box from Terrapin, they're wines are eco-friendly and organic. Unfortunately, Pennsylvania law doesn't allow wine to be delivered into the state to consumers. Boooo P.A.!!!
We wondered around separately and together. At one point some guy greeted us as if he'd known us for years. So my friend D did the same back and I assumed they knew each other. So I said "What are the odds that you'd run into someone you know out here?!" D looked at me sideways and said "I don't know him silly, I was just playing around." Well that was a big mistake because that guy would become a thorn in our side for the rest of the afternoon.
More we sampled the better the day went. I ran into some college kids from D.C. who took a shine to me for some reason. I guess it's my sparkling personality, my friends say I constantly meet new people wherever we go. I can't help myself, so they invited me to a party at their beach house...but I know my limits, I am not equipped for that type of fun anymore. At least not without a few days to recover. It's about moderation not obliteration. :)
As we're walking about we see this lady with mardi gras beads, cat-eye glasses and a plastic part of the male anatomy hanging around her neck! If you look closely you'll see it on the ground.

After a fun afternoon we made our way back to the boardwalk where D was accosted by the drunk guy. He went from a happy drunk to a malcontent. Hitting on my friend and even propositioning her. Sooo my friend T calls the police, as did several other bystanders and before you know it the bike cops came out in full force!! But the drunkster had stumbled off somewhere.
While the girls went to enjoy sundown on the beach, I started dinner. Sausage w/pepper and onion on Italian rolls w/provolone. Yummmm. It was quite tasty and yes we enjoyed more of our wine. I fell asleep way too early, by the time I woke up to watch the movie I knew I may have a hard time sleeping...and I did. I didn't go back to bed until 3 a.m., by then everyone else was well into REM. Thankfully I had my bed to myself so I didn't wake anyone up.
Sunday:
It was leisure morning. My friend T left early to be home for her sons soccer game. Two of the other girls left around 11am while D and I stayed to shop along the boardwalk. The day was beautiful and I wished I didn't have to go to work the next day. The drive home was tiring this time, but a dose of caffeine kept us plucky enough to make it.
During our walk we scoped out places for next year. Hopefully we can get the whole gang to go.

Yes I'm Still Breathing
Lately I've been doing some local stuff. Camping again, took a trip out to Atlanta and headed to OC, Maryland for Wine Fest this weekend.
My focus has been on house hunting, more like condo hunting cuz I don't wanna be responsible for all that yard business. Ideally, I want to spend my days in an old stone farmhouse on acres of rolling green. But realistically, it ain't happenin.
Soooo dear blog friends, if you're still out there HELLOOOOO and I'll be making up for lost time. :) Cheers!
